2018-19 Yamaha YZ450F Aluminum Engine Hangers and Titanium Brackets
A little known secret is the Factory Yamaha team utilizes a titanium front engine mount but without any anodizing or coating. Our front engine mount for the Yamaha chassis improves front grip and turn in response, something many riders are looking for from the Yamaha YZFs. Our stiff option adds the most response and front end feel but might lack a little of the comfort our softer offers.
Up top, our engine hangers were developed with the same test riders as the product used on Star Racing Yamaha's YZ250Fs. We have a stiff, medium and soft option. Stiff has a little more torsional stiffness than stock but with a little bit longitude flex added. Meaning there's a small bit of bump absorption but overall the twisting flex of the chassis is lessened. We recommend this for indoor tight tracks and Supercross settings. Our medium top adds a small amount of torsional flex and moderate amount of longitude, meaning the chassis will overall be more comfortable, compliant, and have better corner roll character. We recommend this option for most MX settings. Finally our soft tops offers a larger amount of torsional and longitude flex, this is best for the slickest hard pack tracks or more off-road conditions. In more aggressive moto situations, this mount can actually offer too much flex and create vague characteristics.
